Five Nights at Freddy's is an indie horror game created by Scott Cawthon. You start off as a security guard working the night shift for Freddy Fazbear's Pizza. Pretty much its one of my worst fears as a child come in the form of a video game. Let me shed some light as to why for those of you who stumble upon my post who never experienced the sheer and utter joy of what it was like going to Chuck E Cheese in the 80's. I loved it! There was pizza and you ran around jumping from one game to another. I even remember there were mini arcades that were kid sizes. What's not to like. I remember waiting around to actually watch the animatronics move. When they finally did it was pretty darn creepy. Feel free to search "Chuck E Cheese 80s" under images on the internet or even youtube. They are creepier than I remember. (heebie-jeebies).
Scott Cawthon did a fantastic job capturing that inner fear of what if these child friendly characters that we grew up with actually had free will to move. The other part of the fear for me lies where you as the security guard are pretty much stuck in a room waiting for these things to come to you at any given time. The only thing keeping them from you are these electric powered steel doors. But there's a catch. You can only use so much power before the generator cuts off. If and when it does you are completely helpless in the dark where you wait your doom.
Sounds like a dream job.
With that being said and Halloween just right around the corner I thought I would make my own Freddy Fazbear head. Yup just the head.
Oh, I made Chica too :D
